James 1:25 — God’s Word is designed to change and guide our lives. We tend to have an understanding of the importance it has in the life of the Christian… but struggle at times to put it into practice. So, how do we allow God’s Word to shine a light on our living? How can we grow in making connections between what it says and what is going on in our hearts? How do we develop a pattern of applying what it says to our lives? How can we help others do the same? This session aims to help us interact with our Bibles in ways that make it more than just words on a page but content that grows us in conviction, character and conduct.
1 Corinthians 16:13 — Our culture feels like it is wrestling at the moment with what it thinks it means to be a man. God’s Word is not confused or conflicted on what it calls men to and for. The Bible offers us clear definition and detail of what it means to act like men. This session is designed to invite men to surrender to God’s calling on their life to live, love and lead in holiness and godliness.
Titus 2:3-5 — It is no small calling to be a godly woman. God calls you to a holy life that brings Him glory. God calls you to live for Him with overflowing impact on those around you. This session will explore the distinct and vital characteristics of this calling. It will aim to consider practical ways that we are to live out the distinct privilege of being called to be a godly woman.
1 Timothy 4:16 — Sometimes we forget that our first responsibility before the Lord is to live a life that lines up with what we are called to and that the Gospel has freed is for. This kind of spiritual amnesia can lead to us missing areas of temptation, sin, unbelief and hardness in our hearts. So self-watch is necessary in combatting our tendency towards self-righteousness, self-justification and self-sufficiency that we are prone to. This session will aim to give us a checklist of things to look out for and a tool box for how to combat those blindspots.

Hebrews 12:2 — How tired are you feeling? In what ways is weariness showing up in your life? It is easy for things to mount up around us in such a way as we struggle to see a way forward. That can be the case in relation to suffering. It can be show up in terms of our serving the Lord. It can have an impact on our sanctification (a weariness with doing good). So what are some essential things to bear in mind if we want to endure? How do we persevere when everything feels prolonged or in the midst of problems and pressure? The goal of this session is to encourage you to continue to live motivated by pleasing God even when it probably seems easier to do anything else.
Ephesians 5:22-33 — There are few things more dangerous to be complacent about than your marriage. Yet, when was the last time you really thought about it. It is remarkably easy to settle into a pattern of life that doesn’t pay attention to the kind of things that will keep a marriage healthy and holy (which are really the things that make a marriage happy). This session is going to look at how the Gospel alerts us to some things that a husband and a wife can contribute to ensuring that close attention is paid to a marriage providing the Gospel picture designed by God for it.
Galatians 5:15 — A brief look at the world around us provides evidence of this: conflict is never all that far away. So how can we be prepared for when we get caught up in it personally, or we see it in the church, or are in a position to help those who are experiencing it? This session is designed to equip us for speaking well into places where conflict has sparked. We want to give you food for thought around the way in which the peace God has given you with Himself is designed to inform how and where you find and faithfully pursue peace in your everyday life and relationships.
Occasionally, we'll send email updates about what's happening with Rooted Churches.
